Denis Dunaev, born in 2005 in Yekaterinburg, graduated from the Children's Music School No. 6 in Yekaterinburg, where he studied under teacher Natalia Kubyakova. Since 2021, he has been a student at the P. I. Tchaikovsky Sverdlovsk Music College, studying under Associate Professor Konstantin Tyulkin.

In 2021, he received:

the first prize at the VII All-Russian Competition for Young Musicians named after P. I. Tchaikovsky (Alapaevsk) and

the third prize at the I International Piano Competition "Europe-Asia" (Ufa).
In 2022, he received:

the first prize at the IV Regional Competition for Young Talents of Sverdlovsk Region "Hopes of the Urals" (Yekaterinburg) and

the second prize at the VI International Music Competition "Naidal-2022" (Ulan-Ude).
In 2023, he received:
- the third prize at the XI International Competition for Young Pianists and Piano Teachers "Bartolomeo Cristofori" in the "Piano Solo" category (Saint Petersburg) and
- the first prize at the International Piano Competition named after M. V. Andrianov (Yekaterinburg).
He has participated in masterclasses with Maxim Vladimirovich Filippov, Mikhail Viktorovich Lidsky, Natalia Viktorovna Bogdanova, Ekaterina Alekseevna Murina, Tatyana Mikhailovna Zagorovskaya, and Tatyana Nikolaevna Makoha.
He is a laureate of the "Young Talents of Russia" award (2022-2023), a scholarship recipient from the Yekaterinburg Department of Culture’s "Talented Children – Talented City" program (2019), a scholarship recipient in the "Young Talents" category from the Ministry of Culture of Sverdlovsk Region (2019), and a scholarship recipient in the "Young Talents" category from the Ministry of Culture of Sverdlovsk Region (2022).
He is actively engaged in concert performances. He has participated in concerts of the "Bravissimo" professional music series at the "Nutcracker" Ballet Theatre and has performed on the stages of the Ural Conservatory, the Sverdlovsk Philharmonic, and the Gnessin Academy.
