SAINT PETERSBURG MUSIC HOUSE
The English Hall in a Neo-Renaissance style is a true pearl of the Palace of Grand Duke Alexey Romanov on Moika Embankment, 122. During the lifetime of the august owner, the English (Knights) Hall was used as a reception-room.
From 2011 till now, the English Hall is a chamber concert hall of the Saint-Petersburg Music House created under the initiative of Sergey Roldugin, its Artistic Director, People’s Artist of Russia, cellist to improve professional skills of the young musicians starting their carrier from all over Russia. Among them we see piano, string, and wind players. The rich fretted interior of the hall greatly contributes to its excellent acoustic properties. On the scene, there are highly acclaimed Steinway, Kawai Shigeru and Fazioli pianos carefully selected at the factories.
The successful young soloists, participants of the Music House projects, play in the English Hall on competition basis demonstrating their music programs (see Live Audition tab ). Invited by the Music House, the brilliant musicians from Russia and other countries around the world perform here combining their high art and mastery with the unique interior of this concert venue – the Beauty with the Exquisiteness.
