Lev Grushetsky was born in the year 2008 in the city of Novosibirsk. He received his early musical education at the Novosibirsk Specialized Music School, where he studied under the guidance of teacher Elena Tikhomirova. Since the year 2019, he has been a student at the Moscow Gnessin Middle Special Music School, where he studies under the instruction of teacher Yevgeny Starodubtsev.
He has received awards at national and international competitions:
2022
- the Third Prize at the Open All-Russian Piano Competition named after M. S. Lebenson (Novosibirsk);
- the First Prize at the VII International Festival for Young Pianists “Klavierkonzert” named after Nikolai Arnoldovich Petrov (Moscow).
2023 and 2024
- the First Prize at the International Youth Music Competition dedicated to Igor Fyodorovich Stravinsky.
2025
- the Third Prize at the VII All-Russian Competition for Young Musicians “Constellation” (Sochi, Sirius);
- the Grand Prix at the V International Competition-Festival of Performing Arts “Con Fuoco” (Moscow);
- the Second Prize at the VII International Festival-Competition for Young Pianists and Piano Ensembles named after Sergey Ivanovich Taneyev (Moscow).
He has participated in masterclasses conducted by Dmitry Lyudkov and Natalia Bogdanova.
He took part in the creative sessions of the Sirius Educational Center in the classes of Leonid Zaychik (2021) and Alexander Sandler (2022).
He is a scholarship recipient of the “New Names of Moscow” Foundation and the Ivette Voronova Charitable Foundation. He has taken part in concert programs organized by the Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation.
