He was born in Moscow. In 1977 he graduated the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory (Class of Honored Artist of Russia Yuri Dolzhikov).
The laureate of the II prize at the International Competition «Prague Spring» (1974).
Since 1980 he has been teaching at the Central Music School of Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory , since 1987 - at the Department of Wind and Percussion Instruments of Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory , since 1992 - Associate Professor, since 2006 - Professor.
He conducts master classes in South Korea, Canada, Italy, the Czech Republic and other countries.
Since 1969 - Artist, since 1973 - Solo Concertmaster (1st flute) of Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra. The Artistic Director of Bolshoi Theatre Soloist Ensemble.
He gives concerts, performing pieces of domestic and foreign composers, including written specially for him.
He was awarded the Medal «In Commemoration of 850th Anniversary of Moscow», the Medal of 2nd Degree Order «For Merit to the Fatherland».
