Daniil was born in Nizhniy Novgorod in 1991. Between 2000 and 2009 he studied at the Gnesins Moscow Music School (class of Tatiana Zelikman). From 2006 to 2009 he also attended Vladimir Dovgan's composition class. Nowadays, the pianist is passionately composing piano, chamber and orchestral music. In 2009, Daniil Trifonov entered the Cleveland Institute of Music ( class of Sergei Babayan).
Laureate of international competitions:
2006 – a laureate of the 5th International Frederick Chopin Young Pianists Competition (Beijing, 2006);
2008 - a laureate of the 4th International Scriabin Competition in Moscow (2008);
2008 - 1st Prize and Special Prize at the 3rd International Piano Competition of the Republic of San Marino;
2010 - Bronze Medal and Special Prize for the Best Performance of Mazurkas at the 16th International Frédéric Chopin Piano Competition (Warsaw) ;
2011 - 1st prize and Grand Prix at the XIV International Tchaikovsky Competition (Russia).
He has given concerts in Russia, Germany, Austria, Italy, Poland, Netherlands, UK, Switzerland, Japan, China, Canada, USA and Israel. In 2009, after receiving a grant from Guzik Foundation, the musician went on tour to Italy and the USA, where he made his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York.
During his career, Daniil Trifonov has performed on numerous occasions at international music festivals, including Rheingau Musik Festival (Germany), Crescendo and New Names (Russia), Arpeggione (Austria), Musica in Villa (Italy), Dame Myra Hess Festival (USA), Round Top International Festival (USA), Santo Stefano Festival and Piano Festival in Triest (Italy).
