Maria Popova (flute)

Maria was born in St. Petersburg in 2000. She studied at the St. Petersburg City Children's School of Music named after S.S. Lyakhovitskaya (class of teacher Vasily Wieland). She is a graduate of Secondary Specialized School of Music at the St. Petersburg N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory (class of teacher Natalia Shlykova). Since 2018 she is pursuing her studies at the St. Petersburg N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory (class of Honoured Artist of Russia Denis Lupachev).
 
Laureate of international competitions: 
2017 - The 3rd Prize Award at the International N.A. Rimski-Korssakov Woodwinds and Brass Competition (Saint-Petersburg)
2019 - The 2nd Prize Award at the 3rd International R. Gummert Competition for Young Performers (Kazan)
2022 -  Winner of the V International  N. Rimsky-Korsakov competition for wind and percussion instruments players (Санкт-Петербург)
 
She participates in master-classes by Denis Buryakov, Felix Renggli, Adriana Ferreira, Emily Beynon, Walter Auer.
 
Since 2016 she has been a member of the All-Russian Youth Orchestra of Yuri Bashmet.
 
She has participated in the Summer Academy in Mürren, Switzerland (2016), and a concert tour in Germany organized by the Gartow Foundation (2017).
 
Participant of Saint-Petersburg Music House programs since 2020.
