Margarita Afanasyeva, born in 2004 in Surgut, studied at the Children's Music School in Mytishchi (class of Ekaterina Purgina). She graduated from the Central Music School of the P. I. Tchaikovsky Academy of Performing Arts (class of People's Artist of Russia, Professor Eduard Grach). Since 2023, she has been a student at the P. I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, where she studies under Professor Anna Sokolova.
She has received the following awards at international and national competitions:
In 2019, she received the first prize at the VIII International Violin Competition (Nur-Sultan).
In 2020, she received the first prize at the GMP International Music Competition (New York).
In 2023, she received a special prize for the best performance of Bach at the Youth Tchaikovsky Competition (Moscow).
She has participated in masterclasses with Itzhak Rashkovsky.
She is a scholarship recipient and participant in the concert programs of the V. Spivakov Foundation.
Margarita is actively engaged in concert performances. She has performed on the stages of Carnegie Hall, Izumi Hall, the Moscow International House of Music, the Moscow State Conservatory, and the Gnessin Academy.
She has collaborated with the "Moskovia" Moscow Orchestra under the direction of Eduard Grach.
She is also a laureate of the All-Russian Competition "Young Talents of Russia" (Moscow, 2020, 2023).
