INTERVIEW. SOLOIST OF SEPTEMBER 2024 – POLINA THAI
She was born in 2008 in Kemerovo. She graduated from the Novosibirsk Secondary Music School (class of the Honored Artist of Russia, Professor Evgeny Nilov). Currently, she is a student at the Central Music School – Academy of Performing Arts (class of Maria Zhuravlyova).
She is a laureate of national and international competitions:
2019
- Third prize laureate at the International Television Competition for Young Musicians "Nutcracker" (Moscow);
- First prize laureate of the All-Russian competition named after D.B. Kabalevsky (Novosibirsk).
2020
- First prize laureate at the 4th International Oskar Rieding Competition (Slovenia);
2022
- First prize laureate at the 8th International CMS Competition (Moscow);
- First prize laureate at the 4th All-Russian Competition for Young Musicians "Constellation" (Sochi);
2023
- Second prize laureate at the 11th International Youth Tchaikovsky Competition (Saint Petersburg).
She has participated in master classes led by Sergey Roldugin, David Geringas, Alexander Ramm, Pablo Ferrández, Alexander Buzlov, Alexey Seleznev, Boris Andrianov, Alexander Knyazev, Antonio Meneses, and others.
She is a scholarship recipient of the "New Names" Foundation, the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation, the Yuri Rozum Foundation, and the Czech Viktor Kalabis and Zuzana Růžičková Foundation. Laureate of the Young Talents of Russia award (2024).
Polina has participated in various festivals, including "Moscow Meets Friends", "Vladimir Spivakov presents", "Musical Olympus", Crescendo, "Dialogue of Generations", Alma Mater, Vivacello, the "Stars of the White Nights" Music Festival by Valery Gergiev, the Trans-Siberian Art Festival, and the International Yuri Bashmet Music Festival in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
She has been actively performing in concerts since 2022. Polina has performed on leading stages in Russia, including the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, the Moscow Concert Hall "Zaryadye," the Grand Hall of the Saint Petersburg Philharmonia, and the State Academic Chapel of Saint Petersburg.
She has collaborated with conductors such as Michael Benyumov, Vladimir Spivakov, Mikhail Shekhtman, Anatoly Levin, Christian Knapp, Ivan Nikiforchin, Yuri Tkachenko, Mikhail Golikov, Andres Mustonen, Timur Zangiev, and others.
