Honored Artist of Russia, Professor
He was born in 1961, Moscow. He graduated with honours from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (Class of the People's Artist of the USSR, Professor Alexey Nasedkin), where he subsequently completed assistant internship.
Valery Pyasetsky is a recognized chamber musician. He was for many years a constant partner in duet with People's Artist of Russia Mikhail Khomitser. He also performed with People's Artists of Russia Vladimir Ivanov, Marine Yashvil and Igor Gavrysh.
In 1994 he started working at the Moscow Conservatory as an assistant, since 1999 he has been holding his own class. Since 1999 - Associate Professor, since 2009 - Professor of the piano department under the leadership of People's Artist of the RSFSR, Professor Sergei Dorensky. Since 1984 he works at the Central Music School of Moscow Conservatory. He is the head of Piano Department (2001-2011, 2015-2016), in 2016, he came into office of the Central Music School Director.
He is the jury member of many international competitions, such as: "Nutcracker" Contest, Rotary Competition, Artobolevskaya Competition for Young Pianists, Competition for Young Musicians in the Central Music School, Tchaikovsky Youth Competition, «Astana Piano Passion», «Grand Piano». He gives master classes in many cities of Russia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Slovenia, France, Japan, China, Mexico and Italy.
Valery Pyasetskiy's students have repeatedly participated in Europian, Asian and American music festivals, performed with Symphonic and Chamber Orchestras under the baton of such conductors as Yury Bashmet, Valery Gergiev, Mikhail Pletnev, Alexander Rudin, Yury Simonov, Alexander Sladkovsky, Saulius Sondeckis, Vladimir Spivakov, Vladimir Fedoseev and others. Among his students are the winner of the XI International Tchaikovsky Competition Denis Matsuev and the III prize winner of the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition Daniel Kharitonov. Valery Pyasetskiy's pupils became winners and laureates of international and all-Russian competitions more than 120 times: Competition of Young Musicians "Eurovision", Tchaikovsky International Competition, Krainev International Competition, Chopin International Competition, «Nutcracker» International Television Contest, Rotary International Music Competition and many others.
He was awarded with Honorary Certificates of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation (2009) and Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Fund "The Best Teacher of the Year" (2010). He is the laureate of the All-Russian competition "The Best Teacher of Children's Art School" (2010).
