Born in 2007 in Yekaterinburg, Yana Petrova began her musical education at the Ural Special Music School in 2014 under the tutelage of Tatiana Tsypushkina (piano.) Transitioning to harp in 2019, she studied with Maria Pozdnyakova. Since 2022, Yana has been studying at the Secondary Special Music School of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, under the guidance of Irina Tishchenko, an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation and Professor.
She has awards from All-Russian and international competitions:
2021
- Laureate of the 3rd Prize at the 2nd International Competition "Tutte Le Corde" (Yekaterinburg).
2023
- Laureate of the 2nd Prize at the 14th International Competition named after S.I. Savshinsky (Saint Petersburg)
- Laureate of the 3rd Prize at the 5th All-Russian Competition of Young Musicians "Constellation" (Sochi, Sirius Educational Center).
2024
- Grand Prix of the 3rd Saint Petersburg International Competition named after I.F. Stravinsky
- Laureate of the 1st Prize at the 15th International Competition named after S.I. Savshinsky (Saint Petersburg).
Yana Petrova has participated in masterclasses led by Elena Ilyinskaya, Marina Smirnova, Valentina Borisova, Julia Christina Lucan (Austria), and Soraida Avila (Spain). She has also attended creative sessions at the Sirius Educational Center, under the mentorship of Honored Artists of the Russian Federation, Professors Irina Tishchenko and Elena Ilyinskaya. Furthermore, Yana has been an active participant in events such as the First Open St. Petersburg Festival "Harp on the Neva" and the VI International Festival "Northern Lyre."
As a soloist, she has graced prestigious venues including the Rachmaninoff Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky, the chamber halls of the Mariinsky Theatre, the chamber hall of the St. Petersburg State Academic Capella, the Sheremetev Palace, the concert hall of the Sirius Park of Science and Art, and the concert hall of the Sverdlovsk State Academic Philharmonic..
