Alexander was born to a family of musicians in St. Petersburg in 1986. He began to learn music from his mother Elena Lubyantseva. He studied at music schools in St. Petersburg and Moscow. From 2004 to 2006, he was pursuing his education at the Lübeck Academy of Music, class of Professor James Tokko. From 2006 to 2008, he studied at the N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory, class of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor Nina Seregina. At the moment, he is pursuing his post-graduate studies at the Petrozavodsk State Glazunov Conservatoire (class of Honored Art Worker of Russia and Karelia, Professor Victor Portnoy).
Alexander has been awarded at various international contests:
1995: the 1st Prize Award in the International Piano Competition “Brothers and Sisters” in St. Petersburg
1997: the 1st Prize Award in the International Competition for Young Composers
1997: the 4th Prize Award in the International Competition for Young Pianists (Poland)
1998: the 1st Prize Award in the International Competition for Young Composers “In Memory of Rachmaninoff”
2001: the Grand Prix of the International Competition for Young Pianists “In Memory of Chopin” (Estonia)
2002: the 1st Prize Award in the International Competition for Young Pianists “A Step to Mastery” in St. Petersburg
2004: the 5th Prize Award in the International Competition for Young Pianists in Sydney, Australia
He was also awarded EMCY certificate, Order of Prometheus.
2007: the 3rd Prize and Bronze Medal of the 13th Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow.
2007: Scholarship holder of the St. Petersburg Music House
Alexander participates in concerts organized by St. Petersburg Music House since 2007. He took part in workshops of Andrzej Jasiński, Konstantin Shcherbakov, Mikhail Voskresensky.
Alexander gave concerts in Brazil, Japan, Norway, Estonia, Belarus and the Czech Republic, also took part in the Symphony concert of soloists of St. Petersburg Music House “Harmony of Music” in Seoul, South Korea in 2009.
