Alexey Melnikov (piano)

SOLOIST OF DECEMBER 2022. INTERVIEW

Born in Moscow, 1990. In 1996 he entered the Gnessin Special Music School (class of Tatiana Shklovskaya). In 2008-2013 he studied at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (class of People's Artist of Russia, professor Sergey Dorensky and his assistant Nikolay Lugansky, Pavel Nersesian and Andrey Pisarev).

• Laureate of  Festival-Contest of Chopin Romantic Music of Young Moscovite Musicians (Moscow)

2010

• II prize winner of International Competition of Pianists in the Memory of Vera Lotar-Shevchenko (Novosibirsk)

2014

• I prize winner of International Piano Competition in San Marino, as well as the Audience Award, the Critics Prize and the Orchestra Prize

2015

• I prize winner of International Piano Competition in Cantu (Italy)
• III prize winner of International Competition of Pianists in Hamamatsu (Japan)

2017

• Winner of the II Manhattan International Music Competition (New York, USA)

2019

• III prize winner of XVI Tchaikovsky International Competition

He was a participant of master classes by Nikolay Petrov and Joaquin Soriano. 

Fellow of Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation, Interregional Charity Foundation "New Names" and the International Fund for Cultural Exchange Orbelian and Guzik.

He took part in the International Chamber Music Festival in Cervo (Italy), Festival Animato in Paris, International Festival of Piano Music in Trieste, Heinrich Neuhaus Romantic Music Festivals in Moscow. He has toured around Russian and European cities.

Participant of the programs of the St. Petersburg House of Music since 2016.
