Alikhan Kundukhov graduated from the Moscow Gnessin Middle Special Music School (College), where he studied under the instruction of teacher L. A. Grigoryeva. At present, he is a postgraduate assistant-trainee at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where he is studying under the guidance of teacher Yuri Favorin.
He is a scholarship recipient of the Government of Moscow and of the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation.
He has participated in masterclasses conducted by Dmitri Bashkirov and Daniel Barenboim.
He has taken part in various festivals, including those organized by the “New Names” Foundation and the “Winter Evenings on the Amstel.” He has collaborated with leading orchestras, including the Symphony Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre and the Concert Symphony Orchestra of the Moscow Conservatory.
He has performed on the stages of the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, the Chamber Hall of the Moscow Philharmonic, and the Concert Hall of the North Ossetian State Philharmonic.
