Honored Artist of Russia, Associate Professor
He was born in 1948, Moscow. In 1971 he graduated from the Leningrad Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory (Class of Pavel Orekhov).
Over the period 1970-1974 he worked in the Leningrad Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Yuri Temirkanov. Since 1975 – the artist, since 1978 – the soloist of Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra.
Since 1986 he has been teaching the French horn at the St. Petersburg Conservatory.
In 1983, he was awarded with the Medal of Honour For Labour Valour by the USSR Supreme Council Decrees, in 2008 – the II Class Order For Merit to the Fatherland having great achievements in the development of national culture and art and longstanding fruitful activity.
