Arkady Yakovlev, born in 2005 in Omsk, graduated from the Children's Music School at the F. Chopin Moscow State College of Musical Performance, where he studied under teacher Tamara Alekseeva. Since 2021, he has been studying at the Academic Music College at the P. I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, where he studies under teacher Olga Galochkina.
He has received the following awards at international competitions:
2022
- the first prize at the VIII Governor's International Youth Competition named after Valery Gavrilin (Vologda).
2023
- the first prize at the 7th International Music Competition "Nouvelles Étoiles" (France),
- the first prize at the III International Competition for Performers on String Instruments "String Premium – 2023" (Belarus), and
- the first prize at the VI International Cello Competition named after Svyatoslav Knushevitsky (Saratov).
He is a recipient of scholarships from the President of the Russian Federation, the "Art Line" Foundation, the O. Fedorova and V. Spivakov Foundations, and a grant from the Mayor of Moscow.
He has collaborated with orchestras such as the "Cantus Firmus" Chamber Orchestra conducted by A. Khurgin, the "Gnesin Virtuosi" Chamber Orchestra conducted by M. Khokhlov, the Moscow Chamber Schnittke Orchestra conducted by I. Gromov, the Symphony Orchestra of the G. P. Vishnevskaya Opera Singing Institute conducted by I. Pokrovsky, the I. Lerman Chamber Orchestra, and the Moscow Soloists conducted by Y. A. Bashmet.
He has performed on the stages of the Moscow Conservatory, the Saratov Conservatory, the Saratov Philharmonic, the Gnessin Academy, and the Saint Petersburg State Academic Capella.
