He was born in 1958, Romania. He graduated the National University of Music in Bucharest. He was the Soloist of Transylvanian Philharmonic Orchestra (1981-1992), National Orchestra of Italy (1987-1992) and Munich Philharmonic Orchestra (1992-2003).
Since 1998 he has been teaching at the Nuremberg-Augsburg University of Music (1998-2003 in the rank of Associate Professor, since 2003 - Professor).
The Winner of National Competition (1977, 1979, 1986), the Prize of Romanian Music Critics (1986). The Laureate of International Competition in Marknoykirchen (1979 - III Prize, 1982 - I Prize), International Competition in Geneva (1978 - Bronze Medal, 1983 - Silver Medal), International Competition ARD in Munich (1979 - Special Jury Prize, 1985 - II Prize) , the 1st Prize Laureate of International Competition in Mittenwald (1991).
Dorin Marc has performed concerts in all the major cultural centers of Europe, repeatedly appeared in Romanian, Swiss, Hessian and Bavarian radios and televisions.
In 1991 he issued LP with performances of Quartet of Double Basses "Mobile" in Bucharest.
He conducts master classes in many European cities, including Bologna, Mantua, Malmo and Bucharest.
