Ekaterina Gumenyuk was born in Volgodonsk in 1989. Since 1997, she studied at the Shostakovich School of Music No. 1 in Volgodonsk (class of E. Vorobieva). Since 1999, she studied at Music School No. 11 in St. Petersburg (class of K. Sandovskaya, M. Polozova). Since 2003, she has been studying at Secondary Special School of Music at the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Professor Alexander Sandler, Honored Artist of Russia).
Laureate of international competitions:
2004 – the 5th prize at the 2nd International Prokofiev Competition (Alma-Ata);
2006 – the 3rd prize and 3rd special prize 6th International Chopin Competition( Narva, Estonia).
2006 – the 1st prize at the 20th International Competition “Premio Franco Alfano” ( Genoa, Italy)
Ekaterina is a laureate of “Prometheus Star”, St. Petersburg, 2000.
She is a fellow of the International Charitable Program “New Names”, 2000.
She is a fellow of the Department of Culture of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, 2000-2001, and a scholarship holder of the Philharmonic Society of St. Petersburg.
Ekaterina gives many concerts (performing both solo and with orchestra) in France (Paris), Switzerland (Montro, Geneva), Austria (Inzbruck), Morocco (Casablanca), USA (Georgia, Florida).
She has played with the orchestra of St. Petersburg, Alma-Ata, Narva, Genoa (conducted by R. Martynov, A. Sladkovsky, Sigmund Richert, Lior Shambadal).
