Hofburg is one of the main Vienna sites. This Palace complex was the winter residence of the Austrian Habsburgs and the main seat of the Imperial Palace in Vienna. There are available 2600 halls and rooms in Hofburg.
First mentions of Hofburg are dated XIII century, when it was a Gothic fortress. Later Hofburg became the asymmetric architectural ensemble, combining different styles and epochs.
Today, Hofburg is the official seat of the Austrian Federal President, as well as a large museum complex. Among the Hofburg attractions are Imperial Apartments and Sisi Museum, Spanish Riding School, Imperial Chapel and so forth.
