September 29, Thursday at 7.30 p.m. St. Petersburg Music House and Rossotrudnichestvo invite to Brussels for concert of series "Embassy of Musical Mastery". In honour of two Anniversaries, 110th Anniversary of Dmitri Shostakovich and International Music Day, at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture will perform the laureate of Tchaikovsky International Competition (2015) cellist Alexander Ramm. Piano part – "The Best Accompanist" at International Tchaikovsky Competition (2015) Anna Odintsova.
 
Audience will enjoy in the evening of sonatas and suites of the XX century. They will hear unique Cello Sonata by Dmitri Shostakovich, which combines philosophical meditation and dance motifs. Suite by Spanish Gaspar Cassado reminds to Sardana, Catalan round dance. Soloist will be challenged to perform Britten works Second Suite and Cello Sonata. Works dedicated to the legendary Mstislav Rostropovich require from artist the high level of instrument playing skills. Solist will demonstrate his virtuosity in «Fratres» (lat. "Brothers") - "musical prayer" by contemporary Estonian composer Arvo Pärt. Minimalistic and deceptive in its lightness, this piece draws pictures of serene Estonian landscape.
 
Alexander Ramm (28 years old). Born in Vladivostok. He graduated at the Moscow Conservatory (Class of Professor Natalia Shakhovskaya) and Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin (Classo of Frans Helmerson). Assistant Trainee of the Moscow Conservatory in the Class of Professor Natalia Shakhovskaya. The Laureate of Antonio Yanigro International Cello Competition in Zagreb (Croatia 2012), International Cello Competition Paulo Cello Competition (Finland, 2013), International Tchaikovsky Competition (Moscow, 2015). The Member of St. Petersburg Music House Program since 2011.

"Embassy of Musical Mastery" is a unique project of the St. Petersburg Music House and "Rossotrudnichestvo", which takes place since 2012 and includes the creative meetings of leading Russian musicians, as well as tours of the young soloists at the Russian Science and Cultural Centers abroad. The next concert in Brussels Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo will be held on 3rd of October 2016 dedicated to the National Unity Day.
