Lev Zhuravskiy (clarinet)

SOLOIST OF OCTOBER 2022. INTERVIEW

He was born in 2000, St. Petersburg in family of musicians. Graduate of the Secondary Special Music School at the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory (class of Grigory Maliyov). Since 2019 - the soloist with the Mikhailovsky theatre. In 2023 he finished the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory (class of Associate Professor Grigory Maliev). In 2025 he finished an assistant internship (class of the same teacher). Since 2025, he has been a student at the Musik-Akademie Basel (class of François Benda).

• The winner of the IV prize at the XVI International Competition for Wind Instrument Performers Aeolus ((Dusseldorf)
• The winner of the III prize at the XIII International Competition for Performers on Wind & Percussion Instruments (Moscow)

• The winner of the III prize at the XVII International Tchaikovsky Competition (Moscow and Saint Petersburg)

2024

• Laureate of the III prize of the ARD International Music Competition (as part of the "Nevsky Wind Quintet")

• Laureate of the III prize of the ARD International Music Competition (Munich)

He performed on the Concert Hall stage of the Mariinsky Theater New stage, the Mussorgsky Hall, the Concert Hall of St. Petersburg Chapel, the Grand and Small Halls of St.Petersburg Philharmonia.
