Maria Derevyagina was born in St. Petersburg to a family of musicians. She learned at the Secondary School Lyceum at the St. Petersburg Conservatory (class of Zora Zuker).
Laureate of international competitions:
2007- The 9th International M. Yudina Competition for Young Pianists (St. Petersburg);
2008 - The International Chamber Ensemble Competition “Charles Hennen” (The Netherlands);
2009 - The International Anton Rubinstein Piano Competition (Dresden).
Maria frequently participates in the festival “Kissinger Sommer” (Germany) and performs in Russian and German cities .
