Vladimir was born in a family of opera singer, in Kishinev (Moldavia), in 1963. In 1991, he graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov Leningrad State Conservatory (class of Associate Professor S.Ryazancev). From 1994 up to now Vladimir is a soloist of the State Academic Mariinsky Theatre. He is the Honored Artist of Russia (2000).
The singer is a laureate of the following competitions:
In 1994, Gran Prix and Audience Award at the Mario Del Monaco International Opera Competition (Italy).
Leonardo da Vinci Medal for Merit in the art from the European Academy of Natural Sciences.
In 1996, Gran Prix at the “Petersburg Engagement” International Theater Festival (Saint-Petersburg).
In 1997, participation in the Francisco Viñas International Singing Competition, Barcelona.
In 1995-1998, Vladimir was a soloist of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia The vast musical range of this extraordinary and talented singer from Saint-Petersburg includes such genres as opera, operetta, musicals, academic chamber repertoire, old Russian salon and urban romances, Russian folk songs, Soviet and foreign classical pop music, etc.
In 1991-1995, Vladimir performed as a soloist of the Opera and Ballet Theater at the Saint-Petersburg Conservatory where he had such roles as: Eugene Onegin (‘Eugene Onegin‘), Figaro (‘The Barber of Seville’), Aeneas (‘Dido and Aeneas’). In 1993-1995, we could see him as a director of the “Young Voices of Russia” Conservatory Choir. In 1991-2003, he appeared as a soloist of the Saint-Petersburg State Musical Comedy Theatre. On the stage of this theatre he sang as: Edwin (‘Silva’), Mr. X (‘Mr. X’), Count Danilo (‘The Merry Widow’), Rajami (‘Bayadere’).
The singer took part in staging ‘The Marriage of Figaro’ opera (Joachim Herz as stage director, 1995) by the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia where he had a role of Count Almaviva. The same role was performed by Vladimir in 2002 on the stage of the Opera and Ballet Theater in Kazan within the joint Russian and Holland staging of the Mozart’s opera.
The singer had a lot of solo tours in Germany, Luxembourg, France as well as with the Symphony Orchestra n.a. Soloviev-Sedoy under direction of S. Gorkovenko throughout Italy, Japan. His recital concerts took place in the Grand and Small Halls of the Saint-Petersburg Philharmonic, in the Glinka Academic Capella.
