Mikhail Utkin (1952) has graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky in the class of Prof. M.L. Rostropovich and the post-graduate studies under his assistant Prof. S.T. Kalyanov. Is the winner of the International Youth Radio Competition “Concertino-Prague” (1967) and the 2nd Prizewinner at the International Competition in Liege as part of a string quartet. Mikhail Utkin is the author of numerous arrangements (for the trio, cello and piano, various ensembles and string orchestra) published in Moscow and St. Petersburg and being successfully sounded at concerts. Has been performing in the ”Moscow Trio“ since 1974.
