The Music House looks back on the year 2015
The St. Petersburg Music House wishes Petersburgers a Happy New Year and Merry Christmas. For the Music House that is celebrating its tenth anniversary on 3rd of February 2016, the year 2015 has become a banner year in terms of number of performances - 191 musical performances that were visited by 45 thousand listeners.
The Northern Capital's concert stages have hosted 43 concerts, 30 out of which were "Evenings at the English Hall" on the home stage of the Music House in the Alexeevsky Palace on Moika embankment, 122.
Within the framework of the "Musical Team of Russia", "Generation NEXT" and "21st Century Stars" projects, the Music House soloists have given performances in the cities of Russia and Kazakhstan.
The "Embassy of Musical Mastery" project held in conjunction with "Rossotrudnichestvo" in the Russian centers of science and culture abroad has considerably expanded its geography: 46 young soloists have performed at 85 concerts in 32 countries around the world - in Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America. The "Russian Tuesdays" in the Austrian Brucknerhaus and the "Russian Thursdays" in Stockholm have continued.
In 2015, the Alexeevsky Palace admitted for the ninth time the young musicians - participants in the annual all-Russian project for students of conservatories called "River of Talents". 12 regions of the country was represented by 42 young solo performers, 19 out of which have qualified for the finals having performed with symphony orchestras in cities of Volga River basin.
Future soloists of the Music House are being trained since June 2015 by the "SIRIUS" Educational Center of the "Talent and Success" Fund established on the initiative of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin in Sochi on the basis of the Olympic venues. Young talented musicians aged 12-16 had a unique opportunity to qualify according to the shortlisting conducted by the Music House, to go to the creative sessions held on a monthly basis and to participate in master classes with leading teachers and artists of Russia.
A special highlight for the Music House was the outcomes of the 15th International Tchaikovsky Competition that was attended by the 19 soloists of the Music House. The five active programmes participants have become the contest prize winners: 2nd prizes were awarded to Alexander Ramm (cello) and Lucas Geniušas (piano). 3rd prizes were awarded to Pavel Milyukov (violin), Sergey Redkin (piano) and Alexander Buzlov (cello). Prior to the contest, they have received special support in the form of participation in the concert programmes of "Musical Team of Russia", master classes and tour performances where they have prepared their competitive programs.
Pianist Dmitri Masleev (1st prize) and violinist Haik Kazazyan (3rd prize) have also participated in the Music House programmes in previous years. The jury has rewarded Fedor Amosov (cello) with a special prize called "To the best participants of the second round who did not get into the third round" and Anna Odintsova (piano) with a prize called "To the best accompanist".
The St. Petersburg Music House is a federal cultural institution created in 2006 to train young Russian musicians for international competitions and festivals occupying the Palace of Grand Duke Alexei Romanov at 122 Moika embankment.
The Artistic Director is the famous cellist, People’s Artist of Russia professor Sergey Roldugin.
The season of 2015/2016 is the anniversary one for the Music House. It will turn 10 years old on February 3, 2016.
