Honored Artist of Russia, Professor
Born in 1948 in Novosibirsk. He graduated from the Special Music School at the Leningrad Conservatory, the Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) Conservatory and Post-Graduate Studies (class of Professor Yuri Kramarov).
Winner of the International Viola Competition in Munich (1971)
Over the period of 1970-1991 - Arstist of Honored Band of Symphony Orchestra Republic of the Leningrad Philharmonic under Yevgeny Mravinsky and Yuri Temirkanov. Since 1983, he is violist of the Taneyev State Quartet. As part of that quartet and as a soloist he toured in Russia and abroad.
He performs in chamber ensembles together with Boris Gutnikov, Bella Davidovich, Zakhar Bron, Jean-Bernard Pommier, Eliso Virsaladze, Alexander Rudin, Liana Isakadze, Michael Gantvarg and others. He holds master classes in Russia, South Korea, USA, Germany, England and Finland. Jury Member of International Competitions in Russia, Belarus and Italy.
