"Music House Summer Academy" in Crimea:
In July 2017 for the first time will be opened the "Music House Summer Academy", wherein will participate the successful participants of the Music House programs preparing for performances at the autumn international competitions. "Summer Academy" will occupy the separate building at Romanovs` historical estate "Lower Oreanda" (Yalta), where the musicians will both live and study. Soloists will take intensive courses with teachers, perform to the audience and combine their studies with leisure time activities in one of the most picturesque resorts of the Crimea southern coast. Each cycle of master classes is scheduled for 14 days.
August, 7 to 20 "Summer Academy" will open its doors for the second shift, which will be attended by young oboists, saxophonists, violinists and clarinetists from 12 Russian music colleges and universities. Soloists` mentors will be famous Russian performers Alexei Utkin (oboe), Viktor Kulyk (clarinet), Margarita Shaposhnikova (saxophone) and Mikhail Gantvarg (violin).
Master classes and individual studies will be assisted by experienced pianists and accompanists, who have worked with the Music House Summer Academy professors for many years and who are familiar to participants of the master class programs in St. Petersburg.
Invited participants are 18-30 years of age. An exception was made for violinist Tatyana Kryachkova from Barnaul and oboist Kira Matveeva from Yakutsk, 17-year-old graduates of the “Sirius” educational centre for gifted children, wherein educational unit for young school-age musicians from all over Russia was created with the participation of the St. Petersburg Music House. This year, both these girls became students of Moscow music universities.

The participants of the Music House Summer Academy will give weekly public concerts at the open stage of "Lower Oreanda" Health Resort.
Location of "Summer Academy" is very symbolic – the Music House, which occupies the Residence of Grand Duke Aleksei Aleksandrovich Romanov in St. Petersburg, will open its summer branch at the former Royal Residence on the Crimea southern coast. Lower Oreanda was originally purchased by Alexander I and later transferred to Nicholas I, who believed that Lower Oreanda was quite noble as such as the best Italian resorts. The construction of Lower Oreanda Palace under the design project of A. Stackenschneider was completed in 1853 and destroyed by fire in 1881. Today, the main Sanatorium building having the same name as Palace is located at that site, surrounded by 47 hectares of picturesque park, and the Summer Academy will be opened at the “Kremlin” building of Soviet construction period with noticeable Italian architectural motives.
