The soloist of the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic, Boris Andrianov was born to a family of musicians in 1976. He studied at the Moscow State Conservatory, class of People's Artist of the USSR Professor N.N. Shakhovskaya, and continues his education at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler (Germany) in the class of David Geringas.
At the age of 16, he won the 1st Tchaikovsky International Youth Competition, and a year later, he won the 1st Prize Award and the Grand Prix at a competition in South Africa. Boris has been a fellow of the New Names program since 1991. In May 1997, Boris Andrianov together with pianist A. Goribol became a laureate of the 1st D.D. Shostakovich International Competition “Classica Nova” (Hannover, Germany). Boris Andrianov became the first Russian musician ever to receive the title of a laureate of the 6th International M.Rostropovich Cello Competition in Paris (1997).
By his participation in the International Antonio Yanigro Competition in Zagreb (Croatia) in 2000, where he was awarded the 1st prize and received all special prizes, Boris Andrianov proved his high standing, which was established after the 11th Tchaikovsky International Competition, where he won the 3rd prize and the Bronze medal.
In 2003, Boris Andrianov became a laureate of the 1st International Isang Yoon Competition (Korea). Boris has participated in many international festivals.
He has an extensive concert repertoire with top symphony orchestras. His partners were such musicians as Yuri Bashmet, Menachem Pressler and Akiko Suvanai.
Following the performance of the Boccherini Concerto at the Berliner Philharmoniker under the baton of D. Geringas, an article entitled “A Young God” was published in the Berlin Tagesspiegel newspaper on 29 April 2001: "... A young Russian student of the Hans Eisler Higher School plays like a god: a touching sound, beautiful soft vibration and masterly possession of the instrument have created a small miracle from the unpretentious Boccherini Concerto... he interprets with an unparalleled depth of feeling even the most difficult virtuoso passages..."
In 2002, the American DELOS released a CD with compositions for cello and guitar performed by Boris Andrianov and Dmitry Illarionov. This record was included in the preliminary list of Grammy nominees. Andrianov's name is included in “The Golden Book of Russian Talents “From the 20th century to the 21st century”” by the First President of Russia Boris Yeltsin.
