Tikhon Evlanov, born in 2008, graduated from the A. S. Dargomyzhsky Children's Music School, where he studied under Igor Titov. Since 2021, he has been studying at the Gnessin Moscow Special School of Music, where he studies under Associate Professor Oleg Bugaev.
He has received the following awards at national and international competitions:
In 2021, he received:
- the first prize at the Cello Mahler Prize Competition (Prague, Czech Republic),
- the Grand Prix at the Odoevsky Festival-Competition (Moscow), and
- the first prize at the International G. Sviridov Competition (Saint Petersburg).
In 2022, he received:
- the second prize at the International Music Competition named after E. Mravinsky (Saint Petersburg).
In 2023, he received:
- the second prize at the International Cello Competition named after S. Knushevitsky (Saratov), and
- the first prize at the Grand Moscow Competition for String Instrument Performers (Moscow).
He has participated in masterclasses with David Geringas, Jens Peter Maintz, Boris Andrianov, Dmitry Yablonsky, Kirill Rodin, Denis Shapovalov, Oleg Sendetsky, Raphael Wallfisch, Alexander Gebert, and Leonid Gorokhov.
He is a scholarship recipient of the "New Names" Foundation, the Vladimir Spivakov International Charitable Foundation, and the Yuri Rozum International Charitable Foundation. He was awarded the Grand Prix of the Moscow Mayor's Grants in 2024.
