Nikolaevsky Palace

About venue

It was built in 1853-1861 by the famous eclectic master A. I. Stackenschneider and his assistants August Lange and Karl Ziegler. At the palace there was a manege and a church consecrated in the name of the icon "Joy of All Who Mourn", with a basement like the cave of the Holy Sepulchre.

After the death of the owner in 1894 it was acquired by the treasury to house the Ksenia Alexandrovna women's institute.

After the revolution, it was placed at the disposal of trade unions who renamed it the "Palace of Labour".
