Marat Fatkhutdinov was born in 2008 in the town of Lesnoy in the Sverdlovsk Region. From the age of six, he studied at the Children’s Music School of Lesnoy under the guidance of Evgeny and Svetlana Smirnov. Since 2020, he has been a student of the Secondary Special Music School affiliated with the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory, where he studies in the class of Ekaterina Kulagina.
He is a laureate of numerous international and all-Russian competitions:

- Grand Prix winner at the International Competition for Wind Instrument Performers Grand Music Art
- Laureate of the 2nd prize at the 17th International Competition named after S.I. Savshinsky (Saint Petersburg);
- Laureate of the 1st prize at the 11th International Competition of Wind and Percussion Musicians “Silver Sounds” (Petrozavodsk);
- Diploma recipient at the 2nd All‑Russian Competition of Saxophonists named after M.K. Shaposhnikova (Moscow).
He has taken part in master classes with Vladimir Ustyantsev, Sergei Kolesov, Vladimir Koznov, Nikita Zimin, Leonid Drutin, and Ryo Noda.
He is a scholarship holder of the New Names Foundation (2026).
Winner of the Grand Prix at the International Talent Competition “Finist” (Saint Petersburg, 2025).
Is a laureate of the International Competition “Crescendo” (Moscow, 2025) and the 1st Saint Petersburg International Music Competition for Instrumental Performance “Festivo” (Saint Petersburg, 2025).
Has been a participant in the programs of the Saint Petersburg Music House since 2026.
