Fedor Maximov was born in 2009 in Saint Petersburg. He is currently a pupil at the Secondary Special Music School of the Saint Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, where he studies in the class of Professor Alexey Vasilyev, an Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation.
He has received the following prizes at national competitions held across Russia and at international competitions:
2022
- Awarded Third Prize at the Fourth International Gnessin Competition “Cello-Bass” in Moscow;
2023
- Awarded First Prize at the International Online Music Competition dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sergei Rachmaninov;
- Awarded Third Prize at the International “Golden Talents” Grand Prix Competition in Kursk;
- Awarded First Prize at the Third DIVERTIMENTO International Competition for Performers on Bowed String Instruments and Harp in Kazan;
2025
- Awarded Second Prize at the Seventh All-Russian “Constellation” Competition in Sirius;
- Awarded First Prize at the Eleventh G. V. Sviridov International Competition in Saint Petersburg.
He has taken part in masterclasses given by Alexander Buzlov, Olga Galochkina, Aleksander Ramm, Kirill Rodin, Dmitry Eremin, Alexei Massarsky and Oleg Bugaev.
He has participated in residential arts programmes at the Sirius Educational Centre, studying in the classes of Olga Galochkina in 2022 and Alexey Vasilyev in 2023. In 2023, he received the “Young Talents of Russia” award. In 2024, he was named a laureate of the Fourth Competition for Scholarship Holders of the New Names Foundation. He has taken part in the “Moscow Meets Friends” festival, in concert programmes organised by the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation and in the “Tuning Fork of the Regions” project. He is a recipient of a scholarship from the New Names Foundation.
As a soloist, he has performed with orchestras of the Petrozavodsk Philharmonic, with the Vladimir Governor’s Orchestra and with the orchestra of the Saint Petersburg Conservatory.
