Alexey Stadler was born in St. Petersburg in 1991. He studied at the Palace of Young People's Creativity (class of Professor Alexey Lazko) and at the N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg College of Music (class of Konstantin Kucherov). Since 2010 he has been a student at the Weimar Liszt Higher School of Music (class of Professor Wolfgang Schmidt).
Laureate of international competitions:
2003 - The 1st Prize Award at the A. Glazunov International Competition (Paris).
2006 -The Grand Prix at the International Competition “Art of the 21th Century” (Vienna).
2009 -The 3rd Prize Award in the International Competition of Chamber Ensembles (Italy).
2012 -The Grand Prix and Audience Award at the TONALi Competition in Hamburg.
He is a laureate of the Young Talents Award (2008 - 2010), the Hope of Russia Award (2008, 2009) and the Andrey Petrov Prize. In 2008 he was awarded the youth award “Star of Academician D.S. Likhachev.” In 2011 he was a fellow of the Oscar und Vera Ritter Foundation.
Alexey has participated in the workshops by Frans Helmerson, David Geringas, Natalia Gutman, Sergei Roldugin, Alexander Knyazev, Alexander Rudin.
He performs with leading orchestras of Russia and Europe, takes part in international music festivals and master-classes, including The Verbier Festival Academy by Chigiana Musical Academy (Siena, Italy).
In 2008 he recorded Rachmaninoff's Sonata on cello by A. Jacques, which belonged to Emperor Nicholas II, and in 2009 he recorded a CD with cello miniatures.
