Sergei Zaretsky was born in the year 2005 in the city of Saint Petersburg. He studied at the Secondary Special Music School of the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory named after Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov in the class of Professor Andrei Bolshiyanov. Since 2023, he has been a student at the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory named after Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, where he studies in the class of teacher Nikita Lyutikov.
He is a laureate of several international competitions:
In 2019, he was awarded the Second Prize at the 6th Saint Petersburg Open Competition for Young Performers on Wind and Percussion Instruments (Saint Petersburg);
In 2020, he received the Second Prize at the 9th International Competition “Silver Sounds” (Petrozavodsk);
In 2024, he was awarded the First Prize at the 3rd International Music Competition dedicated to Igor Stravinsky (Saint Petersburg);
He also became the laureate of the Second Prize at the 5th International Competition of Musical Art named after Alexander Glazunov (Petrozavodsk).
He has taken part in creative sessions at the Sirius Educational Center, studying in the classes of Andrei Kazakov (2019) and Igor Fedorov (2020).
Since 2024, he has been an intern with the All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Yuri Bashmet. He maintains an active concert career and has performed in the concert halls of the State Academic Capella of Saint Petersburg, the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic named after Dmitri Shostakovich, and the chamber halls of the Mariinsky Theatre.
Since 2025, he has been participating in the programs of the Saint Petersburg Music House.
