Press Conference by Sergey Roldugin in TASS
Today in St. Petersburg TASS Press Centre has been held a press conference of the Founder and Artistic Director of the St. Petersburg Music House, People's Artist of Russia Sergey Roldugin.
The press conference attended representatives of the leading St. Petersburg and Russian media.
The main topic of the press conference was summarizing ten years of activity of the St. Petersburg Music House. It is not only the company of live performances, but also participation in formation and education of young musicians. The founder of Music House mentioned the major projects: master classes of Russian and foreign authoritative teachers (Project "Higher Music Performance Courses"), all-Russia project "River of Talents", "Embassy of Musical Mastery" (together with Rossotrudnichestvo) - they combine two hypostasis: educational and concert.
Sergey Roldugin spoke about the significant events in the life of Music House in recent times. In 2016 the Alexeevsky Palace Complex will be extended for kindergarten building, instead of which was built the new one in the Admiralty District of St. Petersburg with the help of benefactors. In 2017, the Music House will open its Branch in the Crimea - in July and August next year, the young musicians will have the opportunity to prepare for international competitions on the Black Sea coast.
On 28th of September People's Artist of Russia celebrated the 65th Anniversary. In honor of his Anniversary, Sergey Roldugin received a gift from the news agency a book with a collection of TASS photojournalists` works.
At the end of the press conference, Sergei Roldugin demonstrated the unique sound of cello "Stuart" made by Antonio Stradivari in 1732, playing Tchaikovsky`s "Sentimental Waltz"

Sergey Roldugin – Cellist, the Founder and Artistic Director of Music House. People's Artist of Russia. Professor, in 2003-2004 he was the Rector of Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg State Conservatory. In 2011 he was awarded with the Medal of Honor for his great contribution to the National Art of Music and Training of the Musical Teaching Staff. In September 2016 he became a Knight of the Order of Alexander Nevsky. He maintains the active concert life in Russia and abroad, conducts master classes in Russia and abroad, takes part in the jury of national and international competitions.
