Sergey Semkin, born in 2006 in Saint Petersburg, studied at the A. I. Khachaturian Children's School of Arts, where he studied under teacher Olga Chapanova. Since 2022, he has been a student at the M. A. Balakirev Nizhny Novgorod Music College, studying under Associate Professor Anastasia Bogdanovich.
He has received the following awards at international competitions:
In 2018, he received the third prize at the "Discovery-2018" International Competition-Festival (Nizhny Novgorod).
In 2021, he received the second prize at the VII "SEMPRE CONCEPT" International Competition-Festival (Saratov).
He has participated in masterclasses with Bella Abramovna Alterman, Anastasia Alexandrovna Gamaley, Ruslan Alexandrovich Razgulyaev, and Mikhail Emilevich Dubov.
He is a laureate of the "Young Talents of Russia" award (2023-2024). He performed as a soloist in the "International Youth Symphony Orchestra" project (Nizhny Novgorod, 2022) and participated in the V Performing Workshop of Contemporary Academic Music organized by MASM (Moscow, 2024). He also received the second prize at the International Music Olympiad (Nizhny Novgorod, 2022).
He has performed on the stages of the Nizhny Novgorod Conservatory, the Nizhny Novgorod Music College, the Yaroslavl Music College, and the Moscow Composers' House.
