Severyan Bogdanov was born in 1999 in St. Petersburg. He graduated from the St. Petersburg M.P. Mussorgsky Musical College, where he studied under the guidance of teacher Kirill Lobikov. Since 2018, he has been a student at the N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory, under the instruction of teacher Alexey Lobikov.
He has won the following international awards:
2015 – Second prize at the V St. Petersburg Open Competition for Young Performers on Wind and Percussion Instruments (St. Petersburg)
2016 – Second prize at the International Open Competition for Performers on Woodwind and Brass Instruments "Fanfares of St. Petersburg" (St. Petersburg)
2017 – Winner of the VIII International Festival of Musicians-Performers on Wind and Percussion Instruments "Silver Sounds" (Petrozavodsk).
2018 – Grand Prix at the VI International Competition named after Yu.N. Dolzhikov (Moscow).
2019 – Winner of the XI International Competition for Performers on Wind and Percussion Instruments at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (Moscow)
2020 – Second prize at the III All-Russian Music Competition (Moscow)
He has taken part in master classes led by Igor Yakovlev, Brad Kerns, and Vladimir Shkolnik.
He has collaborated with the Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre, the St. Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra under Alexander Titov, and the Orchestra of the Capella of St. Petersburg under Alexander Chernushenko.
Since 2020, he has been a member of the trombone section in the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic.
Severyan has toured in Switzerland and participated in the International Trombone Music Festival named after A.T. Skobelev (Moscow).
He has been involved in programs at the St. Petersburg Music House since 2018.
