The International Piano Academy is a unique initiative of the world’s leading pianists. It was founded by pianists Martha Argerich and William Nabore in 2002. The main task of the Academy is to continue and strengthen world’s best traditions in music teaching.
Academy Lake Como and the St. Petersburg Music House use similar methods of selection of young performers. Seven young musicians are selected out of more than 700 applicants throughout the world every year for studies at the Academy who are able to receive private lessons with globally renowned pianists. Furthermore, the best young soloists selected from among the large number of them based on the results of auditions become members of the Music House programmes. Participants of the Music House programmes subsequently take master classes with renowned teachers and give concerts in St. Petersburg and other Russian cities, thereby preparing for international competitions. Minutes on beginning of cooperation between the organizations was signed in 2010.
