St. Petersburg Music House: Summary 2019
St. Petersburg Music House wishes all music lovers a Happy New Year and Merry Christmas and sums up creative activities in the last year. There are 644 events in the pipeline such as concerts, workshops, excursions.
In 2019, the leading young musicians - soloists of Music House performed at 212 concerts, which were attended by more than 63 thousand listeners.
Concerts took place as part of the projects “Embassy of Musical Mastery”, “Musical Team of Russia”, “Russian Tuesdays” in 34 countries, in 67 cities abroad and in Russia. The Volgograd Philharmonic and the Kaliningrad Philharmonic became new partners for subscriptions of St. Petersburg Music House. Another significant event was the signing of a long-term agreement with the Japanese arrangements committee of the Russian Art Festival in Japan. Pianist Miroslav Kultyshev was the first soloist to play in Japanese cities in October 2019.
56 concerts took place at the venues of the Northern capital, including "Evenings in the English Hall" on the own stage of Music House in Alekseevsky Palace on Moika 122.
St.Petersburg Music House pays special attention to preparing its soloists for prestigious international competitions at individual lessons and public workshops in the regions of Russia. This is the project “Higher Performing Courses” in the English Hall of St.Petersburg Music House, where leading artists and tutors of the world are teaching the selected soloists. In the spring of 2019, St.Petersburg Music House arranged a series of closed workshops in course of preparation for Tchaikovsky-Competition - the "April Crash Course" in Yalta. It became an extension of Yalta Summer Academy by St.Petersburg Music House.
In September, large-scale worskhops of the annual All-Russian project for students of musical educational institutions “River of Talents” were held 13 times. 20 educational institutions represented 48 young soloists, 23 of them were selected for the finals, performing with symphony orchestras in the cities of the Volga region.
An important part of the educational activities of St.Petersburg Music House are the All-Russian workshop “Embassy of Musical Mastery”. In 2019, the project has been expanding: music educational institutions in Orenburg and Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan) have hosted the open lessons.
Several projects icluded 314 workshops in 11 instruments. 2227 students attended open workshops arranged by St.Petersburg Music House.
A very special event was the summary of the 16th International Tchaikovsky Competition, where more than 20 soloists of St.Petersburg Music House have participated. We are very proud of the victory of Alexey Lobikov (trombone) and Sergei Dogadin (violin), as well as of the third prize award that has been won by Alexey Melnikov (piano). A violinist Aylen Pritchin was awarded the 4th prize and flautist Sofia Viland won the 8th prize. Five soloists of St.Petersburg Music House were awarded “The Best Participant of Round II”: Philipp Kopachevskiy (piano), Ravil Islyamov (violin), Fedor Amosov (cello), Leonid Zhelezny (violin), Ivan Sendetsky (cello).
The laureates and contestants had the opportunity to play for the audience of St. Petersburg at the concert of the series “Young Interpreters of Russia”, “Music of Stars”, “Musical Team of Russia”, “Evenings in the English Hall”. For the very first time, a foreigner, the Dutch cellist Alexander Simon Warenberg, who performed at St.Petersburg Music House on Christmas Day, was awarded.
St.Petersburg Music House is a Federal Cultural Institution created in 2006 to train young Russian musicians for international competitions and festivals. It occupies the Palace of Grand Duke Alexei Romanov at 122 Moika River Bank.
Artistic Director is the famous cellist, People's Artist of Russia, Professor Sergei Roldugin.
