Timofey Kashalaba studied at the Children Music School No2 in St. Petersburg. He graduated from it with honours in 2003 and entered the Mussorgsky Music College (class of Alexey Tikhonov). Since 2007 Timofey studies at the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Honoured artist of Russia professor Valery Bezruchenko).
Laureate if the 2nd Prize at the international instrumental competition “Northern Lyra” by the music festival "Youth of the Planet" (St.Petersburg, 2006).
He repeatedly took part in workshops of outstanding performers and clarinettists, such as Sabine Meyer, Michel Lethiec, Alois Brandhofer. In 2007 he became a laureate of the St. Petersburg Government Prize “Young Talents”.
Since 2004, Timofei Kashalaba has participated in the annual International Youth Conference (South Korea, Seoul) as a solo performer as well as in a youth orchestra. He actively promotes contemporary foreign and Russian composers by appearing at premieres of their music. He participates the international festival “International Conservatory Week” (St. Petersburg) and in the Musical Festival in Vyborg.
