Born in 1947, Leningrad. In 1970 graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov Leningrad State Conservatory (class of Oleg Romanov).
On the fifth course he was admitted by competitive examination in the Academic Symphony Orchestra, where he worked for 13 years as Concertmaster of Percussion Instruments Group.
In 1982, he moved after competitive exam ination to Honored Team of Russia Academic Symphony Orchestra of St. Petersburg Philharmonia to the position of controller of percussion instruments group.
Since 1999, he is teaching at the Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg State Conservatory. Associate professor of brass and percussion instruments.
