Yan was born in Ulan-Ude city (Republic of Buryatia, Russian Far East) in 1985. He graduated from the Ayusheev Music and Humanities Lyceum in Ulan-Ude. Between 2000 and 2005, he studied at the Krasnoyarsk College of Arts (class of Svyatoslav Ovodov). From 2006 to 2007 he interned at the Academic College of Music of the Moscow Conservatoire (Merzlyakovsky School) in class of Professor Zinaida Ignatieva, People's Artist of Russia.Since 2007 he has been a student at the the Glinka State Conservatoire in Nizhny Novgorod (class of Professor Valery Starynin, Honoured Worker of Arts).
2004 - Grand Prix at the 7th Krasnoyarsk International Competition;
2010 - diploma holder of the 1st Russian National Music Competition (Moscow).
He was a scholar of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. He is a winner of the “Support for Young Talents” fellowship. Yan was awarded the Mayor's Prize (2004) for his active creative work.
At the age of 8 he first performed with a symphony orchestra. He actively toured the cities of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Irkutsk Oblast, Altai Krai, Chita Oblast, Kemerovo Oblast, the Republics of Buryatia, Tyva, Khakassia.
