Yuri learned at the Secondary School of Music of the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory (class of Dmitry Krasnik). He pursued his study at the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory (class of Honored Artist of Russia Professor Kirill Sokolov). He completed his post-graduate studies at St. Petersburg Conservatory in 2012, now he is a soloist at the Mariinsky Symphony Orchestra.
Laureate of the international competitions:
1999 –the 1st Prize at the Open competition for woodwinds, brass and percussion (St. Petersburg); 2000 - the 1st Prize at the D. Beda International Woodwind Competition (Lviv);
2003 - the Grand Prix at the International Competition “Art of the 21th Century” (Vorzel);
2005- the 2nd Prize of the N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov International Competition (St. Petersburg)
2006 – the 1st Prize at the 5th Mravinsky International Competition (St. Petersburg);
2008 - the 1st Prize at the 2nd N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov International Competition (St. Petersburg,),
2011 - the 1st Prize Award at the Russian-German Gartow Foundation competition.
In 2007 he was employed at the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra. He took part in open concerts as a soloist and as part of ensembles. Yuri has a large number of pieces of various styles and eras in his repertoire.
