Alexander Boldachev was born in St. Petersburg in 1990. He started to learn harp and composition ( class of Svetlana Lavrova) at the Special Music school music at St. Petersburg Conservatory. At the age of 6, he became a graduate of the Children's Christmas Festival, where he performed "Christmas Ringing”, a piece by Sergei Slonimsky, composed specially for him.
In 2000-2003 Alexander won significant prizes of numerous youth all-Russian and international competition including Félix Godefroid International Harp Competition, Lily Laskin International Harper Competition (France), Youth Music Competition in Albena (Bulgaria), U.F.A.M. International Music Competition (Paris), Valery Gavrilin International Young Composers Competition, Vera Dulova International Competition. He performed in the "Focus on Youth" concert at the 8th World Harp Congress in Geneva in July 2002.
2003 - He was awarded a special jury prize at the international harp competition in Vienna (Austria).
2004 - the 1st prize and the prize for the best French music performance at the Martin Geliot International Harp Competition in France.
2003 - He became the first non-citizen of Great Britain who was awarded the "British brilliant talents” and was awarded a laureate of the annual Yuri Temirkanov Prize.
He was awarded the European Cultural Foundation RRO Europa (Austria) in May 2005.
