Igor Smaliy was born in 2006. He graduated from the Central Music School – Academy of Performing Arts (class of the laureate of international competitions, teacher Igor Fedorov). Since 2024, he has been a student of the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky (class of the Honored Artist of Russia, professor Evgeny Petrov).
His achievements include:
2022
- The 2nd prize at the International Youth Music Competition dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of Igor Stravinsky in St. Petersburg.
- The 1st prize at the VII International Music Competition "GoodWin art – The Art of Winning" in Moscow.
2023
- The Grand Prix at the All-Russian Competition of Young Musicians "Constellation" in Sochi.
- The 1st prize of the XV International Competition "Golden Talents" (Kursk).
Since 2020 - a scholarship holder of the "New Names" Foundation, in 2024 - a laureate of the foundation's scholarship competition.
Participant in educational programs of the OC "Sirius" (class of Vladimir Permyakov 2018, Igor Fedorov 2020, Anton Moiseenko 2023)
Performed with the chamber orchestra "Cantus Firmus" under the direction of Alexander Khurgin, with the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Samara State Philharmonic under the direction of Mikhail Shcherbakov, with the Tula Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Igor Manasherov.
Participant in the programs of the St. Petersburg House of Music since 2023.
