Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor at the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky, Head of the Department of Orchestral String Instruments and Head of the Violin and Viola Department at the Moscow Secondary Special Music School (College) named after Gnesins.
Tatiana S. Berkul graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky and completed her postgraduate studies at the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky (Supervisors: D.F. Oistrakh and B.V. Belenky). Tatiana Semyonovna is a laureate of international competitions, the first violin of the Russian String Quartet. She participated in festivals such as "Russian Winter", performed as a soloist with "Mosconcert", and as a soloist at the Moscow State Philharmonic. She maintained an active concert schedule, performing in major cities of Russia and abroad: in the USA, Latin America, Japan, Austria, Germany, and others. She has recordings on compact discs.
Since 1992, Tatiana S. Berkul has been teaching at the Moscow Secondary Special Music School (College) named after Gnesins. She regularly conducts consultations, master classes, and internships for students, both in Russia and abroad (Austria, Greece, Japan, England, and the United Kingdom). Every year, she conducts master classes at the All-Russian Educational Center "Sirius".
Tatiana also provides professional development courses for music school teachers, which are in high demand among specialists.
She constantly innovates new teaching methods with students and strives to create new opportunities to aid in the development of technical mastery, overcoming challenges in stage performance, and more.
With the support of the Music Programs Directorate of the Moscow City Culture Department in 2022, Tatiana Semyonovna Berkul conducted unique master classes and lectures using video materials titled "Unique Methodologies." She is the author of the book "Thoughts on Violin Pedagogy" (Moscow: Gnesin Music School Edition, 2015), compiler of the collection "Selected Studies and Caprices 'Technique of the Right Hand'" (Reader / Compiled by T.S. Berkul. – Moscow: Publisher "Sputnik +", 2020), author of articles such as "Stage Anxiety" (Questions of Humanities No. 4 (103). Moscow: Publisher "Sputnik +", 2019), "Preserving the Tradition of the Russian Performance School" (Word about David Oistrakh. Moscow: Moscow Conservatory, 2009), among others.
Tatiana Berkul is the founder and the driving force behind the creation of the first David Oistrakh Violin Competitions, organizer of the annual "Present and Future" festival in Moscow's museums, a member of the jury for many All-Russian and international music competitions, and the permanent chairman of the jury for the Gnesins International Violin Competition.
Tatiana S. Berkul, one of the most sought-after educators in Russia. A talented mentor and experienced professional, Berkul dedicates much effort to developing the creative potential and supporting the growth of aspiring musicians. Students of Tatiana Semyonovna have emerged as winners of the All-Russian Youth Delphic Games, laureates of All-Russian and international music competitions, and participants in prestigious international festivals.
