Alexey was born in 1987 in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). At the age of 6 he started to study trombone in the Art Lyccee of the Ohtinskiy Center for Esthetic Education, and later in the Saint Petersburg Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky–Korsakov ( class of professor Victor Sumerkin, the Honoured Artist of Russia ). Currently he is a leader of the trombone group in the Symphony Orchestra of the Saint Petersburg State Academic Chapel and at continues his post-graduate education in the class of professor Victor Sumerkin at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory.
Laureate of international competitions:
2006 - a laureate of the V International E. Mravinskiy Competition (Saint Petersburg).
2008 – a laureate of the II International Competition in the name of N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov (Saint Petersburg).
2009 – a laureate of the trombonists’ competition “Lion’s Club” (Tampere, Finland).
2011 – a laureate of the III prize at the international contest “Prague Spring” (Czech Republic).
He attended master classes of leading world trombonists such as Chris Houlding (2004), George Weigel (2006), Jacque Mauger (2007), Ian Bousfield (2008, 2009), Jean Raffard (2010).
He performs actively in the concerts as a soloist and a member of various ensembles. From 2006 he has been playing in the concerts of the Saint Petersburg Music House such as “Young Performers of Russia”, “Saint Petersburg Performance School”, “The Parade of the Winds”.
