The River of Talents Tour of the finalists in the Volga region: Kazan - Ulyanovsk - Astrakhan - Samara
On October 2, Saturday at 5 p.m., the annual River of Talents concert series will open with a performance of Maria Koryakina (flute), Andrei Matyukhin (oboe) and Timofei Kalmykov (piano) in Kazan, accompanied by the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan, conducted by Alexander Sladkovsky, People's Artist of the RT. The programme takes the audience on a musical journey through the ages: the exquisite Baroque in C. P. E. Bach's Flute Concerto, the stirring changes at the dawn of the 20th century in Sergei Rachmaninoff's Second Piano Concerto, and contemporary classics in Valery Kikta's Third Concerto for Oboe and Orchestra. Behind the conductor's desk is Alexei Aslanov.

On October 22, Friday, at 3 p.m., the best young soloists from The River of Talents are meeting in Ulyanovsk. After a break, the Ulyanovsk Governor's Symphony Orchestra rejoins the project partners. The finalists Fedor Osver (oboe), Mikhail Smirnov (trumpet) and Philipp Lynov (piano) will perform the bright Mozart Oboe Concerto, Rachmaninoff Third Piano Concerto, and Urutyunyan Trumpet Concerto. On October 28, Thursday, at 6 p.m., the River of Talents will bring young soloists to the Caspian Sea, to Astrakhan. Representatives of the Moscow performing school, violinist Alexander Papushev and pianist Dmitry Bereznyak, will perform with the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theatre Symphony Orchestra conducted by Valery Voronin. The programme includes the best examples of instrumental concertos: Paganini's First Violin Concerto and Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto.

On October 29, Friday, at 6.30 p.m., the finalists of River of Talents will give a concert at the Samara State Philharmonic. Accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra, conducted by People's Artist of Russia Mikhail Shcherbakov, Vazgen Yusupov (clarinet), a student at the Academy of Jazz, and Alexander Kliuchko (piano), a graduate of The École Normale de Musique de Paris "Alfred Cortot" , will take listeners into the romantic world of Weber and Liszt. A graduate of the Moscow Conservatoire, Nikita Serov (cello) will perform Prokofiev's monumental work, Symphony Concerto for Cello and Orchestra.
